What better therapy than disconnecting on a mountain bike (MTB) trail. It's the terrain where the bike has a greater variety of modes: from Cross Country to downhill and free ride, passing through enduro, trail and fat bike. This wide range of all-terrain bicycles allows us to let the adrenaline rip and enjoy pedalling on the mountain.
But as you know, the main enemy of road cycling is the coexistence with the rest of the traffic, therefore the helmet is as vital as the bike itself. Other elements such as high visibility gear or lights for those days where the adverse weather conditions are important for safety on the bike. Also Motocard allows you to gear up with the same jersey and Cycle pants worn by your heroes and favourite teams that compete in the great tours such as the Tour, Vuelta and Giro. Cyclocross (CX) has become one of the trendiest cycle modes in Europe over the last few years. It is considered to be one of the most demanding modalities of the bicycle world as they must overcome all types of obstacles, on difficult terrains like grass or mud, combined with some stretches of asphalt. All of this with a bike that's practically a road bike, with small modifications that adapt them to hard, fast and mountainous terrain. These modifications are based mainly on the width of the chainstays, the height of the fork and the tyres, which have studs added that provide more traction and grip on more slippery terrains. The brakes are also a key point in Cyclocross: the position of the road handlebar and the rigid fork force you to change your riding style compared to that you'd use on the mountain bike. Therefore choose well the brake pads that you're going to use on a demanding terrain such as that of a Cyclocross circuit and make sure that they are suitable for braking with your wheels full of mud.
Triathlon is the modality that is currently booming in the world of high resistance sports, which has increased the demands of the riders from the bicycles, components and accessories of this modality. The development and the aerodynamics are the main points to bear in mind when choosing the bike and material for triathlons. Therefore you can choose a handlebar that allows you to couple to the bike and achieve an aerodynamic position. These are the so called goat horn. But none of it will be of much use if we don't use a helmet that complements the aerodynamic position and coupling. And to gain rigidity on your trail, look for the high wheel profile that best adapts to your style and that is compatible with the set or drivetrain that you have.
Finally, BMX is one of the most fun and extreme disciplines around, as the use of a bicycle with a small wheel and frame on a cross, city or skatepark circuit, makes BMX a spectacular, extreme and Olympic sport (since 2008).
